Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts submitted to Selaparang: Journal of Law Studies (SEJALS) are subject to plagiarism screening conducted by the editorial board using plagiarism-detection software (Turnitin) and manual evaluation.

Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited. Authors must ensure that their submissions are original works. Any use of other authors’ ideas, data, or words must be properly cited and quoted in accordance with academic standards.

Manuscripts that substantially replicate previously published work, or that are under consideration in another journal at the same time, constitute unethical publishing behavior and will not be accepted. Authors are responsible for acknowledging all sources that have contributed to the reported research.

Screening Procedure

  1. The editorial team conducts an initial assessment of manuscripts through manual checks against online and offline sources to verify proper citation, quotation, and referencing practices.

  2. Manuscripts are then analyzed using Turnitin plagiarism-detection software. Submissions showing a similarity index exceeding 15% (excluding references and properly quoted text) will be rejected without further review.

Selaparang: Journal of Law Studies upholds academic integrity and expects all contributors to adhere to ethical scholarly writing standards.
